Intermittent Fasting

Fasting is the healing state in which you put your body in. You can only get there by avoiding food for a certain period of time. When your blood sugar gets down, your healing responses get on. So, in the absence of food, your body heals. Fasting has numerous health benefits including improved sleep, pain relief, and anti-aging effects. Fasting protocols focus on when you eat and when you don’t, and can be helpful for food addiction.

Fasting for at least 13 hours a day can reduce the recurrence of breast cancer by 64% in women recovering from the disease. Intermittent fasting with a 36-hour fasting period followed by a 12-hour eating window for 30 days can lead to significant reduction in belly fat. Fasting protocols can activate an intelligence within the body that helps repair cells and heal naturally.

Most of the studies came from people who practice Ramadan. In which they don’t take food from sun up to sun down and that too for 30 days.

Intermittent fasting is the health protocol whereby you focus on periods of time where you’re eating and periods of time where you’re not eating. Purpose of intermittent fasting is to use fat burning energy. The New England journal of medicine stated that intermittent fasting has anti-aging effects and nine healing processes. Intermittent fasting can stimulate growth hormone production, slow down aging, and promote fat burning.

In addition to the gap between the food intake, three foods should be focused when someone is going through intermittent fasting.

1.      Good oils and bad oils

Olive oil, sesame seed oil, walnut oil are good oils while sunflower oil, canola oil, cotton seed oil, corn oil, partially hydrogenated oils are bad oils.

2.      Nature carbs and man-made carbs

Focus on eating Nature’s carbs, such as vegetables and fruits, for a healthy ketogenic diet.

3.      Toxins

Splenda’s sweeteners, artificial colorings, should be avoided. 

Here are three hacks you can do while doing intermittent fasting:

·         Start looking at your 24 hours period as when you are going to eat and when not. The best thing about intermittent fasting is that it can be adjustable with your daily life. If you want to have dinner with your family at 8pm you can then have your next meal at noon the next day, to have that gap.

·         Add half a teaspoon of MCT (medium chain triglycerides) oil in your coffee. It is an extracted oil from coconut oil and acts as a fat burning agent and makes ketones.

·         If you don’t feel good while intermittent fasting. Take a pinch of sea salt that will turn off the hunger hormone and you’ll feel good.
