Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team to take on New Zealand Men’s Cricket Team for a Five-T20I series.

Pakistan Cricket Team will play a away T20I series in New Zealand to prepare for the T20 World Cup ahead in June/July 2024 West Indies/USA. The five match series will start on tomorrow in Auckland, New Zealand. This is the First assignment for Shaheen Shah Afridi as a captain to the T20I side. He has been named the captain for the side, when the former captain Babar Azam resigns from all formats. While, Muhammad Rizwan was appointed as the vice-captain for the T20I side replacing Shadab Khan, who was the former Vice Captain to the T20I side.

The New Era begins for Pakistan T20I side, with Afridi and Rizwan leading the side.

This is the first series in the lead-up to the T20 World Cup 2024, which takes place in West Indies and the USA in June 2024. Shaheen Shah Afridi was appointed captain for his Pakistan Super League Franchise-Lahore Qalandars- and enjoyed immediate success. The Qalandars have won both PSL trophies under his stewardship, becoming the first side to successfully defend the trophy.

The T20I season is set to kick off with a bang as Pakistan gears up to face New Zealand in a five-match T20I series starting on January 12th. Pakistan are coming off a deflating 3-0 Test Series loss against Australia and ill hope a change of format brings about a change in fortunes. They are scheduled to play five T20Is in New Zealand, the first of which will start on January 12 in Auckland. They will then travel to Hamilton for the second T0I followed by Dunedin before going to Christchurch for the last two games.
