“Quaid Day”

Quaid e Azam day is celebrated in Pakistan every year on December 25. A public holiday is announced to celebrate Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder and first Governor General of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was born on December 25, 1876. In Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s birthday is being honored. He was referred to as “Quaid-e-Azam” which translates as “Great Leader”. A lot of activities are taking place everywhere in celebration of this important national holiday.

On August 14,1947, Jinnah was appointed first Governor General of Pakistan. He put a lot of effort into organizing a nation broken apart by intergroup violence. He passed away in his Karachi home a year after being named Pakistan’s Governor General. He is now recognized as one of Pakistan’s greatest leaders as a result of his contribution to the nation.

In Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah is revered as country’s founding father and the country’s first Governor General. The well-known Quaid-e-Azam Jinnah had a lot of work ahead of him. He was in charge of developing a government and caring for thousands of Indian immigrants. A brand-new, unstable nation was given to Muhammad Ali Jinnah to manage. He was also dealing with TB(Tuberculosis) at the time.

Before he was the Governor General, Muhammad Ali Jinnah was a trained barrister with his legal practice. Muhammad Ali Jinnah was an active member of the Indian National Congress and a significant figure in the subcontinent’s struggle for freedom from colonial rule.

·         “Our foreign policy is one of friendliness and goodwill towards all the nations of the world. We do not cherish aggressive designs against any country or nation”

·         “With faith, discipline and selfless devotion to duty, there is nothing worthwhile that cannot be achieved”.

·         “Think hundred times before you take a decision; but once that decision is taken, stand by it as One Man”.

·         “A Muslim is not born to give up. If he is forced to be enslaved, he will become Babur. He will emerge as Sultan Tipu. He can happily embrace martyrdom but will never accept slavery”

Quaid’s fantastic decision-making ability is reflected in his statement, “I do not believe in taking the right decision. I take a decision and make it right”.   

We, as a Pakistani nation, are grateful for Quaid’s struggle and vision for the Muslims. Thank you, Quaid-e-Azam for bestowing upon us the priceless gift of Pakistan. We apologize for not living up to your ideals and aspirations and failed to make Pakistan a model Islamic welfare state as had been envisioned by you. May your soul rest in peace and be granted the highest place in Heaven!
