Five Second Rule

ALL OF US WANTS TO CHANGE OUR LIVES.

ALL OF US KNOWS WHAT TO DO WITH OUR LIVES BUT NONE OF US KNOWS HOW TO DO IT!!!!

HOW TO GET OUT OF OUR COMFORT ZONE.

And for that MEL ROBBINS, American Presenter and author, discovered this Five Second Rule.

If you have an impulse to act on a goal, you must physically move within 5 seconds or your brain will kill the idea. “Mel Robbins”

Our Brain is designed to do three main jobs:

1.       To make our life going by doing physiological duties

2.       To get rid of half of our thoughts when we are asleep.

3.       To Protect us from unwanted and rare moments.

And to protect us from unwanted and rare moments, our brain magnifies the risk to keep us away from that. There are two parts of the brain, one that is an autopilot in our habits, the other is a decision maker that goes in when we make decisions that are unwanted.

And between that autopilot and decision maker, there is a five second window.

Our brain has about a five second window before you start to overthink things. This can include getting up in the morning, introducing yourself to others, speaking in a meeting etc. When you act within those five seconds you interrupt your brain from going into overthinking mode and you do what you always wanted to do.

When our alarms ring in the morning, none of us want to get out of bed, we can either snooze the alarm or get out of bed and for that we have five seconds. Next morning, your alarms ring, count backwards from five like NASA does counting backwards to launch their rockets. And you’ll get out of your bed.

This applies to all your daily chores, just count backwards and get up to do it and you’ll make yourself proud.

Your mind is the only thing holding you back from fulfilling your dreams and reaching your goals. A change in mindset can give you the power to take control of your life and become the happiest, most productive, and most fulfilled person you know.
